    Sunshine  The infrared (heat) rays of sunlight penetrate deeply into the body, aiding the circulatory and muscle systems. The sun also kills germs that around you and helps to increase the number of white cells your body produces to fight and destroy germs. Sitting outside around 8:30 or 9:00 AM is best since the sun is less intense at that time. You don’t want to get sunburned. Sunshine also increases the activity of your liver to metabolize properly.

  • Fresh Air Full, deep breaths of pure air get more oxygen down deep into your lungs. This helps to clear out the germs that collect and can cause disease. It also speeds up circulation of your blood, getting more oxygen and nutrition to all your cells. Fresh air also lifts your spirits and helps to calm nerves and enables you to sleep better at night.
  • Temperance Leaving tobacco and alcohol alone as well as not over indulging the appetite at meal time. Each of these numbs the brain and slows down muscle activity. Eat wholesome food and a nice variety to insure your body receives all that it needs.
  • Rest Adequate sleep can help you become refreshed, the mind keen and sharp. It builds up your body in so many ways. While you sleep your body is rebuilding the cells of your muscles, bone marrow, stomach, and brain. Sleep is the great restorer. Sleep prepares you for greater physical and mental challenges.
  • Exercise Physiologists have found that when you exercise, your bone marrow makes red blood cells at a faster rate. This is significant, because red blood cells carry fresh oxygen to your brain and all through your body. Walking everyday is important to prevent blood clots. If you feel like you need to unwind…take a walk. Inactive muscles build up strong electrical charges that keep one awake…walking will dissipate these charges and work precisely the way a tranquilizer works.
  • Nutrition Eating a big meal overworks your tired digestive system and results in restless sleep.  A great deal of poor health in this country can be attributed to heavy meals and light work.  Did you know that every grain of sugar you eat, you use vitamin B1 (thiamine) to burn it up and release energy? Thiamine is sometimes called the happiness vitamin, for when we don’t have enough of it, we become irritable. A high level of sugar in the diet weakens resistance to colds and other diseases. Fresh garden veggies, delectable fruits, hearty grains, milk and some proteins are the best food choices.
  • Water The new guidelines for water intake is taking your body weight divide it in half and that is how much water you are supposed to drink for your body type in ounces.  Example: someone weighing 140 lbs. divide by 2 = 70 ounces of water to drink in a day. Your digestive system depends on adequate water intake so it can do its job correctly…so does your brain in fighting fatigue and also to continually flush your body of unwanteds. Bathing and keeping our bodies clean and stimulates your circulation.
  • Trust in Divine Power Let God renew your courage, your hope, faith and trust. This will lighten your burdens, fill your heart with laughter and put a new song of thanksgiving on your lips. Our heavenly Father has a thousand ways to provide for us, of which we know nothing. Those who accept the one principle of making the service of God supreme will find perplexities vanish, and a plain path before their feet. In Matthew 6:33 it says, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.”
